Evans Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church

Historic Preservation Clinic

- Organized in 1801 by Henry Evans, a free black man. The current structure was built in 1893 and features Gothic-style architecture with magnificent craftsmanship in the two-story gable front and interior woodwork. The Archives Committee of Evans Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church is dedicated to preserving the church's history through tradition visits and oral history.

With such historical and cultural treasures, Ms. Holmes was invited to speak upon Historic Preservation in order to ensure the longevity of their possessions.

- The 2006 Fayetteville Dogwood Festival is scheduled for April 28-30, and promises to be bigger and better than ever. The jewel in the festival crown is the street fair, which will take place all day Saturday and Sunday in downtown Fayetteville. The Fayetteville Guard, the area’s only professional indoor football team, kicked off its inaugural season April 2, 2005 at the Crown Coliseum. The National Indoor Football League team is owned by two local business men.

 

The Guard consists of local and regional talent, along with former NFL, NIFL and AFL players. The officials are provided by the NFL and football fans will recognize many of the calls, penalties and rulings. >> Learn More
